Photography from Jackson’s One Year Birthday!

I had the pleasure of photographing Jackson for his one-year-old portraits and also for his birthday party. I love kids event photography, there is always something fun and different going on. =)

Here’s a great shot of Jackson amongst all his presents!

A Sneak Peek of Harrison’s Birth Pictures

A couple of my oldest and dearest friends, Kaley + Josh, had their first baby on December 2nd. They have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first child and kept us all in suspense by not finding out if they were going to have a girl or a boy.

When Kaley asked me if I would be able to take pictures after the birth, I was so excited. I was hoping it wouldn’t fall on a day that I already had a scheduled photo shoot, so when they called me at 1:00 am to tell me they were leaving to go to the hospital, I was so happy to be able to go that I left my house immediately. I didn’t want to risk missing the birth of their first child.

I waited in the waiting room with Josh’s mom and dad and Kaley’s mother and had a wonderful time chatting with their parents. Josh’s mom told me the story of how Josh was named and sweet stories about her memories of her grandfather when she was a child, and Josh’s dad kept me laughing and bought me at least two cups of coffee, which I needed. All the soon-to-be grandparents were ticked to death that Kaley was about to give birth. There’s nothing quite like the excitement of waiting for a baby to be born, it’s kind of like the excitement you feel when you are a child waiting for Christmas morning, but waiting for a baby is still better than that.

Once the baby was born, I got to go in and take pictures even before the grandparents got to see the baby. It was so special. Then Josh, the baby’s daddy, walked out with me to the waiting room to give the news. He had a canister of chocolate cigars wrapped in….BLUE…to show they just had a baby boy!

I’ll never forget being there. Thank you, Josh + Kaley, for letting me be a part of this very special day in your lives. Harrison is absolutely amazing!

Sam’s Halloween Bash: A Sneak Peek

From a DJ to a kid friendly, mad scientist, drink station this Halloween party had it all. Sam, aka Harry Potter, had a blast running around with his friends, bobbing for apples, dancing, drinking potions from the mad scientists, and going on hay rides. What more could a kid ask for? It was a blast and I LOVED photographing Sam’s Halloween event!  Here is a sneak peak of the party. Don’t you wish you could’ve gone to this party when you were little?!

Ansley + Chloe: Newborn Identical Twins

I had the joy of spending time with Ansley and Chloe, who are identical twins, and are only 3 weeks old. They were so cute! Their mom and grandmother helped out with the shoot and kept them happy. The girls where determined to stay awake during the whole session, but finally fell asleep at the end and let us get a few sleeping shots. Of all photography, newborn photography is my favorite, and being able to photograph not one, but two beautiful baby girls was amazing.

I may be a twin but I’m one of a kind.  ~Author Unknown

Amy + Michael

I had a great day hanging out with Amy and Michael. They are having their first child and do not know if it is going to be a girl or a boy. I’m so excited to find out. Actually, they were scheduled for a c-section on Saturday, so I’m sure they know now!! But, I’ve yet to find out, but will be going to their house on Friday to meet their new addition.

Amy and Michael make the cutest couple, they are so sweet to each other, and they are so excited about starting their family. I can’t wait to meet the baby behind the belly!!

Bowie’s Debut

When I meet Bowie, he was 9 days old, and, of course, so precious. His mom fed him right when I got there and the rest of the time, he “slept like a baby”, even though I was moving him around to take his portraits. I was amazed at how well he did–no complaints whatsoever. On top of that, he was just too cute for words.

After we were finished with his portraits, his brothers got home and we tried to get a quick shot of them all together in the backyard. Four boys, all two years apart, all adorable, but ready to run and play. They really did a great job all sitting together, but were ready to jump up at any moment, as all little boys are, so we hurried up and got the shots. I’m glad that their mom wanted a portrait of all of them together, as much as children change, it will be nice to look back and see what they all looked like when little Bowie was born. Plus, it’s not very often I get the chance to photograph four brothers together.

Aren’t these boys just adorable together?!

A Sneak Peak From Brooke’s Session in the Park

I had the pleasure of meeting Brooke, a three-year-old, beautiful little girl in East Cobb Park last Sunday with her mom and dad. At first, Brooke was upset, crying a little, and hiding her face, but after playing on the playground for a little while, she began to smile a beautiful, big smile and the rest of the session was much more fun! =) She just needed a little while to relax.

Here are a few sneak peaks with her and her mom and dad. Nothing made her happier than sitting on top of her daddy’s big shoulders or having him throw her up in the air. “Higher! Higher!”, I heard her say a few times. We had a great time!

Colton + Ella: A sneek peak

Colton made his grand debut into this world 3 weeks ago and he is such an amazing little man. I spent the day with him, his mom, and his big sis.

His mom, Dawn, and I spent three hours or so trying to get him to take a much needed nap so we could get a few “newborn” pictures of him, but he wasn’t quite sure he was going to let us, but he finally did!

His big sis, Ella, is so good with him, she talks to him really sweet and even changes his diaper. Dawn wanted a couple of pictures of her two beautiful children together and here are a couple of my favorites. I had a great time today with Dawn, Ella, and Colton!
